As the VGA market transitions into the next phase of GPUs, a new power connector has been born.
NVIDIA's RTX 3000 series video cards introduce the 12-pin PCI-e connector. While this connector may not currently exist as a built-in option on most power supplies, this connector can be powered via two 8-pin PCI-e sockets.
One only needs to use this 12-pin to 2x8-pin PCI-e adapter to accomplish this. It allows any PSU, with enough wattage, to power the new RTX 3000 GPUs via 2 8-pin PCI-e sockets.
Your RTX 3000 series GPU is universal. It will work with any standard ATX system as long as there's enough room in the case and the wattage to support it. Cooler Master believes your PSU should work the same way. One new part shouldn't force you to have to change your power supply unit, and with the 12-Pin to 2x8-Pin VGA Adapter you won't have to. You can use this adapter to power your RTX 3000 GPU, or any future 12-pin connector GPU, regardless of what brand your PSU comes from.
The 12-Pin to 2x8-Pin VGA Adapter is 400mm in length. This cable length was chosen intentionally after a considerable amount of testing and research. With 400mm of cable this adapter should be able to reach any connection point in any system without adding an unmanageable amount of excess cable to deal with. The flat black cable design delivers a subtle appearance that won't completely throw off your system's appearance.
